Making a new album (7/21/24) Back in the studio this week, thanks to the City of Austin's Live Music Fund and the Howlin' Dog Music Group's Innovation & Artistry grant. Brennen Leigh is producing this one and we've got 3 days booked at East Austin Recording Studio, with Ashleigh Caudill on upright bass and Karrie Sheehan on drums.

Blue Rock songwriter residency (6/15/24) What an honor to spend a week this July at beautiful Blue Rock Artist Ranch working on new songs alongside David Berkeley, Rod Picott, and Billy Crockett. The week culminates in a live performance on Saturday, July 20. It will also be livestreamed and Blue Rock knows how to do it right! Thanks to the Blue Rock Foundation for making this residency possible.

Innovation & Artistry grant (4/15/24) Howlin' Dog Music Group based in Alamosa, Colorado has awarded me a $3K grant to help create a new album this summer. Read all about the recipients and our projects on their website.

Lung surgery (3/18/24) Late last year, I was having chest pain and a large tumor was discovered in my lung. I had surgery to remove my upper left lung lobe. Healing is slow, but sure, and I'm fortunate to be surrounded by the love and support of such an amazing community. There are more details on Patreon, along with new original songs on Native American wooden flute, which I'm learning to play to rehab my breathing. My music therapist says, "Every breath is good!"

Artist grant award (9/10/23) I'm thrilled to be one of the recipients of a $10K grant from the City of Austin to make new music. Stay tuned as plans come together, I'll keep you posted, but for now... WOO HOO!!!

Recording Academy Board (5/10/23) It's been a huge honor to be serve on the GRAMMY board for 2 consecutive terms and as co-chair of the Education Committee. I'm proud of the advocacy and education work of the Texas Chapter and since I'm terming off, I look forward to cheering from the sidelines for a while. Vamos!

SXSW (3/1/23) This year, I'll be repping the Recording Academy at the GRAMMY Block Party, celebrating the GRAMMY Educator Award winners from Texas, and performing solo for a delegation of US Congresspeople at Same Sky Studios. 

Project Management for Creatives (2/5/23) I'm moderating a panel discussion on The Heart of Project Management for Creatives at Folk Alliance International Conference, featuring artist Vanessa Lively and publicist/strategist Kari Estrin.

First band in the new KMFA studio (10/1/22) The boys and I will be the first full band to perform in the new Draylen Mason studio space. The show will be produced by  Concerts 4 Austin Charities (C4AC) and we are honored to bring our music, and special guests, to this gorgeous venue. (Fun fact: I got to bring the very first full band performance to the Rollins Theater at The Long Center when it opened. So cool!)

I turned the reins of the Education Committee over to Arnaecia Alridge and look forward to continuing to support the work of educating, equipping, protecting, and advocating for people in the music industry. Southwest Regional Folk Alliance conference (9/5/22) I've been selected for an official showcase at SWRFA this year! Chuck Pinnell will accompany me on songs from Solace in the Wild.

KUTX Pause/Play Podcast (6/14/22) I'm super honored Elizabeth and Miles featured me in their journey to understand and mint NFTs! Mashibeats web3 mentorship (2/2/22) I've been selected as one of 10 artists in the inaugural Mashibeats Creator Club cohort, to be mentored by Mark de Clive-Lowe and move our web3 projects forward together. I love this community and I'm excited to dive deeper.

My first NFT (1/20/22) I'm excited to let you know about my first NFT, 50 editions of the song "HalfLight" minted on the eco-friendly Polygon blockchain. "HalfLight" is the first song on my first album, now out of print. This is the first installment in a retrospective collection I'm excited to roll out to web3 collectors over 2022. (Here's my favorite podcast about web3 and the potential of NFTs, if you're interested in learning more about the space.)

Live-stream hiatus (5/28/20) My twice-weekly live-streams have been a joyous reminder of the healing power of music and community. They give me something to practice for, set my watch by, and look forward to. They keep me singing! It has been a real gift to spend that time with you. Preparing, delivering, and following up on those streams takes a surprising amount of energy, so I am taking a short hiatus in June to focus on the upcoming SPECIAL ONLINE CONCERT Friday, June 5th, as well as preparing rewards for supporters of my forthcoming album. Erin Ivey Track Released (5/5/05) Erin's track, Gone, appears on a compilation of new electronic music released by Red Bull.

Recording in the Stoneleigh Penthouse (4/2/05) With the help of Rumblefish CEO Paul Anthony, Erin is producing a new track in the penthouse of the Stoneleigh Hotel in Dallas. Built in 1923, the hotel's trap doors, secret passageways, sliding mirrors, and hidden rooms enhance the atmosphere of the track, a prison folk song from the turn of the 20th century.

Dallas Music Labs (3/20/05) Erin has been selected to attend a five-day music production workshop with producers Lorin Ashton (aka Bassnectar) and Craig Russo. Erin is one of ten participants selected from the southwest US.
